Seed Points:
What are Seed Points?
By attending and playing in these tournaments players will gain seed points. Gaining Seed Points during Road To GameCon will determine your overall Ranking for GameCon 2010. The number of seed points gained is based on the ranking of the player you fight. You will gain Seed Points regardless of if you win or lose, however you will receive significantly more points for winning.
Whats the average number of Seed Points gained for winning?
Assuming the two opponents are the same ranking the winner would gain 10 Seed Points
Whats the average number of Seed Points gained for losing?
Assuming the two opponents are the same ranking the winner would gain 2 Seed Points
Why give points for losing, that seems unfair?
The purpose of Road to GameCon and seeding is to reward those loyal players. If a player was to gain nothing from losing or lose points then that would put them at the same level as someone who just shows up to GameCon in September.
Ranking:
How is Ranking Determined?
All players will be ranked based on there overall seed points. If two players have the same seed points then their ranking will be determined by whoever has the best win/lose ratio.
Can I go down in Rank?
Yes and No. You will never lose a rank based on losing, however a player can surpass you and take your rank by aquirring more seed points.
What are the benefits of being top ranked?
The Top 16 Ranked Players from each game will get special seeding at Little Rock GameCon 2010. Ranks 1 through 8 get automatic placing in the Quaterfinals. Ranks 9 through 16 will get placing in the Secondaries.
What about the other ranks?
All other ranked players will be seeded in the primaries matches. So no matter what being seeded will put you above the First Round (Qualifiers)
